Winter 2009Our Preferred Contractors
Over the years we’ve worked alongside some very special folks. We’ve gotten to know them and the quality of their work. These are the people we call when we have a problem in our own home. Do you need a contractor to help with an electrical or plumbing issue? Ask for a referral to highly qualified people. Got a remodeling project in the “dream” stage? We know just the guys for you. Looking to save energy by adding insulation? We will do a free attic insulation inspection with any service. And our contractor is top notch! Why do we refer to other contractors? Referrals are all about trust. When we are seeking any service we are looking for someone we can trust- someone who has proven their worth and comes highly recommended. 90% of consumers worldwide say they are most likely to trust the recommendation of people they know. We appreciate referrals from our customers and colleagues and we just thought you might too. What’s in it for us? Just knowing our customers are in good hands.

But with the price of some sunglasses, a gift certificate to your local optical shop could be a pretty good idea. And a hearing aid, while I could use one, doesn’t really qualify as one of those “good things that come in small packages” in my opinion. But then again, it could make a lot of people happy if I got one as a gift. If televisions get any bigger they may start a new housing boom just so there are rooms large enough to accommodate them. And that would be a good thing. But by far, the strangest gift idea I can think of is also one of the best. Imagine giving a loved one the gift of…
…safety in their home. How, you ask? Come on, we’re heating and cooling people. What about a furnace inspection and cleaning? For many people, that’s something that doesn’t make the budget cut at this time of year. But now when we’re all using our heating equipment regularly, wouldn’t you like the peace of mind that comes from knowing that your parents, children or friends are not only comfortable but safe in their homes? It may not be romantic. But it sure says that you care. Call us. We can arrange it.
It wouldn’t be a GFI Newsletter without a helpful tip or two, so here’s something your backyard bird friends wanted us to tell you. Consider installing a heated bird bath. Those of us who stay for the winter have trouble finding fresh water. Please put our feeders in sheltered areas out of the wind. If you use window feeders you’ll be able to see us “up close and personal”. But any protected place will be nice. And we’d like to mention that if you hang a really big feeder, you won’t have to fill it so often. Just a little tip from us to keep you warmer too.
One last tip I just heard about. If you don’t have a back-up generator but do have outdoor solar lights, they can be used inside for lighting in case of a power outage. Bring them in and put them in a suitable bottle or other container to provide illumination. The really great thing is they can be carried from room to room if need be, and returned outdoors to recharge the next day.
In this holiday season we wish you all Peace, Love and Hope for a bright future. May you be surrounded by family and friends. Celebrate! Enjoy! We hope to see you all again in 2012. And thanks to each and every one of you for your support in 2011.
